MMXVIII

Hello lovely, beautiful, people!!

It has been A HOT MINUTE since I’ve just sat down and written a normal blog post. Life is CRAZY HECTIC.

If you have been reading my blog for a good bit, or you've done some stalking, no shame, everyone does it… you may have come across two of my previous blog posts that look similar to this one: “MMXVII - What’s Your Word?” and/or “MMXVI” if you’ve been following for like… THREE WHOLE YEARS.

Seriously C A N N O T believe i’ve been writing on my little corner of the internet for coming up on 4 YEARS.

Mind = BLOWN.

Anyways, so the two blog posts I mentioned above (which I also linked), were basically both recaps of the years that were coming to an end, so yes, YOU GUESSED IT, I’m about to take my best shot at recapping 2018.

The craziest, most eventful, most hectic, most incredible, insane year I’ve ever had.

In these blog posts I also told y’all my “word” for the year, in 2016, my word was TRANSPARENCY.

2017’s word: ABLE.

Before I attempt to, and probably totally fail and recapping 2018, I encourage you to go back and read through my 2016 and 2017 blog posts I linked a few sentences up. :)

Without further a due… lets jump in.

So, like pretty much all of my other blog posts, I don’t really ever have a template or game plan on what I want to write, I just sit down and let the Holy Spirit do the typing, so I’m currently trying to think of a word for 2018, because quite honestly, I am at a loss for words when it comes to trying to sum up my entire year.

Hmmmm………

FRUITFUL.

Thats it. Thats the word. Let me explain…

I started off 2018 in Arkansas speaking at a leadership retreat for a student led movement called #HowToLife, and if you follow me at all on social media or previous blog posts, you are no stranger to this wonderful group of people and mission that is HOWTOLIFE! Through this evangelical nonprofit, I have met the majority of my closest friends, had the privilege to travel all over the U.S and speak to hundreds of teens and share my story and the gospel, and build relationships with the most incredible people I’ve ever known. So, Arkansas. Started off there and it was indeed, fruitful; for the students being spoken to and also me as I was spoken into through the other influencers there.

I’m not going to attempt and name all of the places I visited in 2018 because I would totally get it wrong buuuuut I think after that I went to Dallas, (one of many trips this year), to visit some of my dearest friends.

I then flew to St. Louis to spend a couple days with my best friend and his family, where we wrote a song together, and then took an Amtrak to Chicago for a leadership weekend for some strategizing, prayer, and quality time with some of the leadership team of this organization that I had the privilege of being on the national executive leadership team of.

I had the privilege of speaking at numerous churches and schools this year and I won’t try to begin to name all of them because I will forget but nonetheless… all FRUITFUL.

2018 also was a period of time of my first serious relationship, which was also long distance. I don’t regret one bit of the relationship I was in because of the things I learned, and this relationship, while over now, was the one of the best, most cherished times in my life thus far. I may share more about that later, but for now, we’re focusing on 2018 as a whole. :)

So, countless hours in planes and in cars all over the country, for ministry purposes and personal purposes which also led to me discovering the deep love I have for traveling. I have always been a homebody, but this year taught me how important traveling is to me and how much I thrive when immersing myself in different cities. I may also do a blog post on all of that, expounding more on the numerous cities I visited and my heart for that.

So… those are some of the things 2018 has held. But the H U G E things included…

  • Graduating high school a year early, I’m still very much 17 :) people forget that sometimes.

  • Starting COLLEGE, yes, I am a full time online college student. Shocker, huh?

  • Signing a PUBLISHING CONTRACT and RELEASING MY VERY FIRST BOOK!!!!!!!!!

Yep, still not over that. How faithful is our God.

See where I’m getting at when I say FRUITFUL?

This year has been one of life changing experiences, memories, new relationships, huge lessons learned, discovery, challenges, hurdles, heartbreak, triumph, perseverance, and holding steadfast to the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father we so thankfully serve.

This year has been one of life changing experiences, memories, new relationships, huge lessons learned, discovery, challenges, hurdles, heartbreak, triumph, perseverance, and holding steadfast to the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father we so thankfully serve.

Spiritual attacks have been very prevalent these past few months, so things that I enjoy and try to pour myself into, like publishing blog posts for y’all have been very minimal because I’ve been learning a lot about balancing transparency and keeping myself healthy as well. I am currently facing some pretty hefty health struggles and I plan on sharing more when I have more answers and am more healthy and ready to do so.

Between traveling, speaking, writing, blogging, running a photography business, graduating high school, starting college, nannying full-time, and trying to maintain somewhat of a healthy social life, this year has been A LOT to say the least.

But lives have been changed; Jesus has used me.

Seeds were planted.

Seeds were harvested.

Passions were ignited.

The discovery of my calling was peeled back for me to see a lot more clearly.

Battles were won.

Because y’all, WE DON’T HAVE TO FIGHT FOR A VICTORY, WE ARE FIGHTING FROM A VICTORY BECAUSE OUR DEBTS WERE PAID IN FULL ON THE CROSS.

Hold steadfast to His will and word, He will be FAITHFUL, and my goodness, you will see the fruit of your faith.

F R U I T F U L.

My prayer going into 2019, for you, and for myself, is that we go in with expectant hearts, cling to His word, recognize His voice and spirit, and always be still in the fact that we are NOT fighting FOR A VICTORY, but we are fighting FROM A VICTORY.

Always be still in the fact that we are NOT fighting FOR A VICTORY, but we are fighting FROM A VICTORY.
